Sell T-Mobile REVVL 2
In 2018, T-Mobile released the REEVL 2 and 2+. It wasn’t out of a sudden unexplainable development that T-Mobile became a brand manufacturer; what hat they did was take a phone built and designed by another company (TCL) and brand it.
The whole point of the REEVL smartphone line from T-Mobile seems to have been deliberately against the trend of ever-increasing smartphone prices. Instead of breaking the bank for a good smartphone, T-Mobile says you can opt for one of them instead of at a far lower rate.
On the other hand, the REEVL 2 isn’t an exceptional device. But that isn’t a surprise. That is the whole point – to offer the basics of a smartphone using recent hardware and inexpensive materials. Evident in its specs, the REEVL 2 is an entry-level smartphone but can handle the day-to-day task of the average smartphone user.
With the REEVL 2, you’ll have features such as an all-day-long battery, face and fingerprint unlock, a good camera and a 2-year warranty. The company even leased out the REEVL 2 for 24 months on an interest-free plan of $7 per month. The price of the smartphone at its launch was $168.
Another interesting feature of this device is its 18:9 aspect ratio which was popular in large-screen smartphones. It also has an HD+ display, a feature that qualifies it for an entry-level device on the higher end. Apart from the convenience features, you also get a large 3000mAh battery for the REEVL 2.
In the smartphone market of 2018, the T-Mobile REVVL 2 was okay but only if you specifically wanted T-Mobile’s network. If not, it doesn’t quite compete favorably with Nokia 6.1 and Motorola G7 Play which sold for similar prices.
Meanwhile, if you have an old device you’d like to swap for another gadget, contact Gizmogo today.
T-Mobile REVVL 2 Specifications
Design info: TCL made the REVVL 2 to optimum budget specifications, with almost no room for indulgence in its design. It looks and feels like a budget device. It is made predominantly of plastic. Even its frame, which looks like matte aluminum material, is still just reinforced plastic. The back panel is made of black plastic, which is glossy and attracts fingerprints.
The REVVL 2 is large at 67mm and lightweight at 144g. It has a 5.5inch screen with large bezels above and below the screen. The front-facing camera, LED flash and speaker griller are embedded in the bezel above the screen, where the sensors are also located. The capacitive back, home and app switcher keys are on the screen and not in the bottom bezel.
The back panel is not removable and can be slippery. The features on the back panel start on top with the main rear camera, then its LED flash and the fingerprint scanner arranged in series. Directly below it is the T-Mobiles logo. Finally, on the bottom is the REVVL logo in silver.
On the sides, the power button and volume keys are put together on the right. On the left side, you’ll find the slots for the dual SIM card and micro SD card. The micro USB port is on the bottom of the device with dual speakers. The headphone jack is seated solo on top.
Audio info: The device has two loudspeakers on the bottom and supports all forms of media output. Sound volume is acceptable, but its quality dwindles, and bass depreciates as volume goes up. You’ll have a better audio experience using headphones.
Capacity info: It has a storage capacity of 32 GB and room for expandable storage.
Size and weight info: It measures 147 x 68.8 x 8.4mm and weighs 144g.
Display info: The REVVL 2 uses LCD IPS technology for its 5.5-inch screen. It has a resolution of 1280 x 720 and an aspect ratio o 18:9. It is capable of displaying 16M colors and has a diagonal pixel concentration of 293 PPI. While colors may be accurate, they lack vibrancy and tend to be undersaturated.
The display is a capacitive multi-touch screen and is protected by a 2.5D curved glass screen. The major problem with this display is its brightness. It can be not easy to see the screen's content clearly in daylight at its 215 nits peak brightness.
Camera and video recording info: The main camera is a single 13MP lens and a front-facing 8MP camera. It doesn’t offer anything special, just decent pictures with accurate colours and good detail in good lighting but low light ruins everything. Video recording is in 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Water-resistance info: The REVVL 2 is not resistant to water.
Performance info: The main chipset of the REVVL 2 is a low-end quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor which clocks at 1.3GHz. This is a MediaTek MT6739 chipset and is combined with just 2GB of RAM. With this combination, you can only expect so much performance on this device. Apps may take a few seconds to open, and running many apps concurrently will slow things down considerably. It runs on Android version 8.1 Oreo.
Connectivity info: For connectivity, you get the standard 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and all its accompanying features, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS and USB 2.0 and FM radio. There’s no NFC.
Battery info: The powerhouse of the REVVL 2 is a solid 3000mAh capacity battery. It provides up to 7 hours and 42 minutes of video playback time at maximum brightness, streaming over Wi-Fi. This battery should easily provide a full day’s use on a single charge.
