The gaming world is always moving forward, and Xbox is at the forefront. By consistently innovating and personalising the player experience, Microsoft goes beyond gaming with its latest update to Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC. Let’s get stuck into the latest features and improvements. Xbox isn’t just about gaming. It’s about tailoring that experience to the gamer’s preferences and choices.
Another of my favourite changes is all about personalisation for Xbox console users. One of the more annoying trade offs in gaming is whether to choose between a really cool looking game theme that covers up cool looking Xbox game art or let the background remain the default. In the new update, players have to go into Settings, then General, then Personalisation, and lastly My Background to activate ‘Show selected game art.
The Xbox consoles have leapfrogged in a number of fronts but one that places it ahead is being able to store up to 10 wi-fi networks, no re-entry of passwords is required for those 10 stored networks, this is a plus for the players who like to travel or game at friends and relatives houses. All that will be a thing of the past. One can remove a network from the console by going to the Network Settings section.
The Xbox Adaptive Controller and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 have seen updates that provide more adaptive solutions for players who need them, and make games more refreshing and easy access to play for more people. The bugs have been fixed.
The first, as the name states, offers Xbox Cloud Gaming for all users on the web. This update notably enables keyboard and mouse support for a list of more than 100 games, a great addition for those who had already been using it. The second gives all cloud gaming users mouse and keyboard support. Xbox is delivering. The fighting-game community is a diverse and specific niche Within one of its games, Soul Calibur, the only input allowed is a gamepad. However, the rest of these games are more than open enough to accept a keyboard and mouse, which means that these games can now be enjoyed in the same way on both a console and a browser window. Cloud gaming will offer gamers an unfiltered, and unaltered, way of experiencing the high-fidelity experience they desire, no matter what input device they choose to use. But this is just the initial step in delivering on the hopes for cloud gaming.
PC players have a lot to celebrate with the new and improved Game Pass tab within the Xbox App! Now, back to the three-game tiers we know! The new sorting options are particularly great because they enable players to easily discover games from EA Play, Riot Games, and Xbox studios. This update will make it easier for players to find their next favourite game and significantly improves the search and discovery experience.
Each on its own offers a certain feature of value, but the totality of the updates accelerates the overall Xbox gaming ecosystem. The attention to detail and gamification of Themes, Friends, Accessibility and Cloud emphasise Xbox’s growing investment in providing the most comprehensive and entertaining immersive gaming experience for its global membership. From greater themed customisation, to user-based controller functionalities, to cross-platform dedicated gaming in the cloud, Xbox is no longer just a console.
Xbox consoles have been the centre of digital entertainment for over 20 years. Since the launch of the original Xbox in 2001, Microsoft’s console life has been packed with new features, performance and design advances, all centered around a better gaming user experience. Xbox consoles are characterised by their hardware power, game library and online community.
As we have seen, the latest updates made available on Xbox consoles and in the Xbox app on PC demonstrate yet again that Microsoft is committed to continue enriching your gaming experience and entertaining you as an Xbox gamer. From month to month, Xbox consoles are following in each other’s footsteps, becoming the benchmark for the industry. This means that, as a gamer, you have more freedom than ever before to play the way you want. Whether you love to game casually once in a while or if you are a hardcore gamer, Xbox consoles open the doors to a wide world of gaming fantasies that are waiting for you!
To conclude, the update to the latest Xbox is not just a set of new features on the console but is also a mantra of Xbox’s growing commitment to innovate, customize and promote inclusivity to anyone who wishes to experience gaming at its finest – on a device that is customised and personalised as per their desires and aspirations.
