Thank You for Recycling Your Electronic Waste!

Why Recycle E-Waste in California?

In California, you have many opportunities to recycle your unwanted electronic waste (e-waste) with an authorized collector at no charge. When recycling old televisions, computer monitors, and other electronics, the collector must verify that the equipment comes from within the state.

Why We Ask for Your Information?

Your Name and Address

The State of California provides financial assistance to authorized e-waste collectors to help cover the costs of recycling. To receive this assistance, collectors must ensure the e-waste was sourced from California.

By providing your name and address:

  • You protect the integrity of California's e-waste recycling program
  • A CalRecycle representative may contact you to confirm you were the source of the recycled e-waste.

If you are contacted by CalRecycle, it is solely to verify your submission. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Important Information for All Californians

Many electronic products, such as computer monitors, laptops, and TVs, contain toxic materials that can harm the environment. It is illegal to dispose of electronic waste in the trash. By responsibly recycling your unwanted electronics, you are protecting our planet and supporting California’s sustainability efforts. Thank you for making a difference!
