Microsoft Surface Pro 6 i7 for sale

The Surface lineup has evolved impressively since it was introduced in 2013. Microsoft's touted the device as an excellent laptop substitute. The Surface Pro offered laptop-level performance and function in a tablet form factor.

By many standards, Microsoft has achieved its marketing promise to deliver a device that offers tablet and laptop functionality. However, there is still room for improvement. With the Surface Pro 6, Microsoft made more internal changes than external.

Surface devices have always come with an impressive build, so there is no need to tweak an already working feature. However, the Surface Pro 6 comes with improved chip hardware and a slew of new features to justify its pricing and Pro 6 name.

It is 2021, and the features of the Pro 6 are justifiably dated. Microsoft has launched several Surface devices ever since. Today, you can get powerful 2-in-1 tablets for the price of the Surface Pro 6. If you want to upgrade your Surface Pro 6, you can do that easily by selling your device or swapping on Gizmogo.

Microsoft Surface Pro 6 i7 Specifications

Design info: The Surface Pro 6 body is cut from a single piece of aluminum, just like its predecessors. The case houses the device's components, and it is sturdy. You can't flex the body no matter how much pressure you apply to it.

Except for the new black color option, the Surface Pro 6 looks identical to its predecessor. The device has rounded edges, which makes the grip comfortable. The Pro 6 features the same ventilation slot at the top of the case as previous Surface Pros. The Core i7 model comes with a fan, unlike the m3 and Core i7 models below it.

The Surface Pro 6 i7 also has a kickstand, which opens to 170°. You can adjust the viewing angle with the kickstand when using the device like a tablet or a laptop.

On a disappointing note, the Surface Pro 6 has the same ports as its predecessors. We expected a Type-C port on the device; after all, it is a premium offering. The device has a single USB 3.0 Type-A port, a Surface Connect port, a Mini DisplayPort, and a microSD card slot.

The Surface Pro 6 comes with the Signature Type Cover. This time, the type cover has an Alcantara finish and is available in three different colors. The Alcantara is soft to the touch and wipeable if anything spills on it.

Capacity info: The Core i7 variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is available in two memory configurations, 8GB/256GB and 16GB/1TB. You will pay more to get a variant with a larger memory configuration.

Size and weight info: The Surface Pro 6 i7 weighs 786 g (1.73 lbs) without the Type Cover. At 1.73 lbs, the Core i7 model weighs 16 g (0.56 oz) more than its less powerful sibling, which is most likely due to the weight of the fan. With the Type Cover, the Surface Pro 6 weighs 1.1 kg (2.43 lbs).

In terms of size, the Surface Pro 6 has a thickness of 8.5 mm (0.33-inches), which is 1.5 mm (0.06-inches) thicker than the Huawei MateBook E.

Display info: The Surface Pro 6 sports a 12.3-inch PixelSense Display with a native resolution of 2,736x1,824 and a 3:2 aspect ratio, yielding a pixel density of 267 PPI. This is identical to last year's model. Apparently, Microsoft doesn't see the need to upgrade the screen of the device. The display still supports 10-point multitouch.

Camera info: The Surface Pro 6 has two cameras, just like the Surface Pro 5. There is an 8 MP rear-facing sensor with autofocus that takes acceptable photos. You can take decent photos with the rear camera. However, don't expect elite-level photography.

The same can be said for the 5 MP front-facing camera. The camera produces decent images, but the images are noticeably noisy due to the low resolution.

Videography: The 5-megapixel front-facing camera will suffice for Skype chats and other video-calling apps. Also, you can record 1080p videos with the rear-facing camera.

Water-resistance info: It is not water-resistant.

Chip info: The Core i7 variant of the Surface Pro 6 has a quad-core processor, allowing smooth computing. You won't experience any lag running standard apps on the device, like MS word programs, cameras, and other stock apps. The device can handle multitasking well. Microsoft equipped the Core i7 variant with a fan to ensure that it cools quickly during intense computing.

Battery info: The Surface Pro 6 comes with a 44-W charger, which is large enough to charge the device while it is in use. On paper, the Surface Pro 6 has a 45 Wh battery, which serves for about 9 hours during continuous web surfing and 13.5 of video playback. However, several user reports suggest that the device's battery life is lower than the quoted figure in the marketing material. The disparity may be due to use intensity.
