Which is the best phone in the world – Samsung or iPhone?

Galaxy S20 vs iPhone 11
Firstly, we will need to define the scope of the question. Samsung is a company that produces a wide range of devices, and even if we stick to smartphones, there are several Samsung models, whereas the iPhone is the only smartphone produced by Apple. So, for the sake of clarity – we are comparing the Samsung Galaxy against the Apple iPhone, and we compare like for like, namely, versions that fall into the same category and were released roughly at the same time. And then we will do a more global comparison, in terms of market dominance.
The latest Samsung model is the Galaxy S20, which was released this year and the latest iPhone model is the iPhone 11 which was released towards the end of last year.
First, let’s have a look at the prices. The new Galaxy costs $999, whereas the iPhone is cheaper and a new one would cost you between $699 and $849 depending on the capacity.
If the price isn’t an issue for you, the features and characteristics of the Galaxy S20 seem to be better than those of its competition. So, in a way if we are to base our opinion on the original question – is Samsung or iPhone best, it seems that things sway in favour of the Samsung.
The Galaxy S20 comes equipped with a triple-lens camera, with a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, a similar 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 64-megapixel camera. The iPhone features a dual-lens camera, with both cameras being 12-megapixel. The video capture capabilities of the Samsung are also better. And even if we compare the previous Samsung Galaxy model, the S10 which was released roughly at the same time as the iPhone, the Samsung still has somewhat better capabilities.
Sales and market share
If we are to decide on the basis of the number of sold phones and let the users and customers be the judge and decide is Samsung or iPhone best, we will see that Americans would be inclined to conclude that the iPhone is better, whereas Europeans and people from all most parts of the world would favour the Samsung. However, during the last quarter of 2019, something interesting happened. Namely, Samsung managed to outperform iPhone and sell more items over the course of that quarter.
